A Short Resume of the Club History.
Foxhall Foxes was formed in 1984 by a group of people who came
together and in those days the "S.C" stood for supporters club and was
basically stockcar racing fans. Some of the drivers that raced in that first
season included Kevin Wegg, Dean Cox, Steve Parker, Clive Day, Kevin
Thurlow, Ian Campbell, Mark Banham, Julian Armes, Darren Earrey,
Gavin Heard, Mark Cossey, Steve Baldwin and M. Johnson
The Club has in the past raced at various venues in the area with the most
famous probably being "The Pit Bar," at Foxhall Stadium.
If we proceed to the year 2000, Noel Whinney along with some Foxhall
friends decided to start up a sister club to run on a different night to Foxhall
and to only race "slotstox". These friends who all put money into a kitty to
purchase a track, etc. (in excess of £1000) included Noel, Kevin Whinney,
Aaron Leek, Mark Banham and Jim Glading plus help from various others
(including Chas. Atkinson and Ian Turnbull), and was known as
Blakenham S.C. Both clubs ran alongside each other with certain members
racing at both clubs each week. Foxhall from Grundisburgh Village Hall
(having spent a short time at Bucklesham Village Hall) and Blakenham
from Blakenham Village Hall. However, both clubs suffered from falling
attendance and it was eventually decided to join the resources of both
together and run one club on a Friday night. It was decided that a venue in
Ipswich was necessary to make this work, and after much searching we
have ended up at Rushmere Village Hall, Humber Doucy Lane, Ipswich.
January, 2009.

Foxhall Foxes Racing Rules
1. If your car fails scrutineering you have until the next race meeting to put it right.
2. If the scrutineer decides your car cannot be raced, then that decision is final. You
may correct the problem and have the car re-checked by the scrutineer.
3. A car may be randomly checked by the scrutineer at any time.
4. When it is your heat you must line-up straight away, you may drive your car round
to your grade position but no further. You may only remove your car from that grade
with the express permission of race control. Race control will also have the power
to remove any driver from a race if they continue to violate this rule after having
been warned.
5. A driver is allowed TWO minutes to repair a car per heat; if time expires the heat
will continue with them missing from the lane that they should be competing in but
they may take up their lane position when ready to do so with the starter's per-
mission if the heat has not finished but they are not entitled to any further time
to repair during the duration of that heat.
6. If a driver false starts he or she will be moved back one grade. If they false start
again they are disqualified from that race. If there is deemed to be a track fault the
race will be re-run with the offending driver starting from the original grade.
7. Cars must start each race with four wheels. If a wheel comes off during a race you
will be allowed to finish the race, but repairs must be made for the next race. If the
same wheel comes off twice in the same heat then the race will be re-run without
the offending driver.
8. Any car coming out of its slot during a race will be left in that position until the race
distance has been run.
9. Cars that fall into another driver's lane and finish the race will not be awarded any
points.
10. Any car that falls into another lane whose car has also come out of the slot, must not
be driven by the other driver.
11. A car will be deemed its final race position only if it is in its own lane and under its
own power.
12. The whole car must cross the start/finish line to obtain its final race position.
13. If two cars cross the start/finish line together the positions will be decided by the car
that reaches the start/finish line first; but the above rules still apply.
14. Once a race has started your hand controller must not be unplugged until the race is
deemed to have finished.
15. You cannot race another car or motor that has already been raced by another driver
in that meeting.
16. If you wish to use another car/motor it must be scrutineered before it is raced.
17. Anybody causing a head-on will be disqualified from that race and the race re-run.
18. Anybody deliberately stopping so as to cause problems for another driver will also
be disqualified from that race. The race will then be re-run without the offending
driver.
19. All drivers must complete the required number of laps.
20. If you encounter an obstruction during a race you many push your way past that
obstruction but you mush finish all your laps to obtain your finishing position
points.
21. If only one car is left racing and the lane is clear, a race result can be declared.
22. If two cars are left racing and their lanes are clear they can decide to settle. The race
will then be declared at the positions they are in.
23. Any problems with the race result should be sorted out at the time, if you complain 3
races later for example, nothing will be done and the result WILL stand.
24. The start marshall and/or back-up will have the final say on any racing decision.
25. A Christmas Fun Night will be a feature of the Racing year.
26. All drivers who qualify for semi-finals and finals should help with clearing the track
and equipment away after the meeting (this includes tables and chairs, etc., with
common sense being applied in the enforcement of this rule) and that all
individuals are responsible for clearing up and disposal of their own mess.
27. Only the Parma 16D Home Set motor will be allowed.
Format
A normal points chart meeting will be run as follows:
1. Each driver will have three heats with a 6 lap race in each lane.
2. The top 12 points scorers of the evening will be divided into 2 semi-finals. The
semi's will be 6 laps with one race in each lane. If there is a tie on points in a semi
the position will be decided by a run-off between the drivers concerned.
3. The top 3 points scores from the two semi-finals will go through to the final. The
final will be 10 laps with one race in each lane.
4. All "run-offs" will start from yellow grade using lanes 3 and 4 (2 tying); 3, 4 and 5 (3
tying); 2, 3, 4 and 5 (4 tying); with each driver having one race in each lane. In the
event of drivers still being equal the process will be repeated with those drivers
affected only taking part, if (after three attempts) still equal positions will be
decided by the start marshall taking the lowest racing number and drawing a
number from the face-down discs used to decide the final positions: i.e. the lowest
no. disc will be the winner. In the event of all six tying the heat will be re-run.
Points
Heats: The points in the heats will be as follows:
Race win 5 pts., 2nd 4 pts., 3rd 3 pts. , 4th 2 pts., 5th 1 pt. and 6th 0 pt.
These points are added to the points chart.
Semi-Finals: The points for race positions are the same as the heats, but they are added
up to see who comes 1st., 2nd., 3rd. etc. in that particular semi-final. Points are then
added to the points chart from the semi-final by way of where you finished in that semi. i.e.: 1st 6 pts., 2nd 5 pts., 3rd 4 pts., 4th 3 pts., 5th 2 pts. and 6th 1 pt.
Final: Points from final placings will be added to the points chart as follows:
1st 10 pts., 2nd 8 pts., 3rd 6 pts., 4th 4 pts., 5th 2 pts. and 6th 1 pt.
The Points Chart
The points chart will operate on a best of 3 from 4 cycle. i.e.: Grades will be determined
by this plus a rolling drade will also operate (an average of your grades).
Grades
Your grade or roof colour dictates where you are to start on the track for each race. Your grade is decided by your average score each month (i.e.: your average score last month decides your grade for this month). The chart positions will be determined using the following formula:
The highest points scorer will start from silver. The next six positions will start from super star. The remaining positions will be spread equally 25% each between red, blue, yellow and white. Any driver who has been a Champion in the last five years cannot go below blue grade. If you have been on the sleeping chart or are a retired driver returning, you start at the grade that you left at or the grade you are at on the sleeping chart, you can only be down graded one grade at a time.
Your grade will determine your starting position but all "Champions" will start from Super Star or above. Any visiting driver must start from his club grade. A driver who does not want to start from his grade may start from gold (with starter's permission) but must complete the rest of the meeting from gold.
Slotstox
The highest average points scorer will start from silver.
The next five top average points scorers will start from super star.
The remaining positions will be spread equally 25% each between red, blue, yellow and
white.
All major champions i.e. full club level and above (except the World Champion [gold]
and Points champion [silver]), will start from super star.
Any driver who is a member of another club(s) will be expected to start from the highest
relevant grade. A driver who does not want to start from their grade may start from
gold (with starter's permission) but must complete the rest of the meeting from gold.
Saloons
The highest points scorer from silver.
The remaining positions will be spread roughly 25% each between red, blue, yellow and
white.
All major champions i.e. full club level and above, will start from silver.
A driver who does not want to start from their grade may start from silver (with
starter's permission) but must complete the rest of the meeting from silver.
Bangers
The positions will be spread roughly 25% each between red, blue, yellow and white.
All major champions i.e. full club level and above, will start from red.
A driver who does not want to start from their grade may start from red (with starter's
permission) but must complete the rest of the meeting from red.
General
Drivers can only go down one grade each points chart.
If a driver does not race during a points chart cycle they will retain the grade they
were in the previous chart.
Any driver returning after a long break must return in the grade they were last in.
Any driver who has been red or super star can not go lower than yellow in the points chart.
Any driver who does not race in a points chart cycle will be removed and kept on a sleeping chart but if they return to be added to the present chart.
Grand Prix Series (Slotstox only)
The Grand Prix Series consists of six rounds. Approximately one round per point chart
cycle. The rounds are run simultaneously with a points chart meeting and therefore
follow the same format and scoring system, etc. All points each driver scores in the
heats, semi-finals and final are included on the Grand Prix Series points chart. The
final round is a double points round.
Hand Controllers
Any two wire hand controller is allowed so long as it is made to a commercially available
resistance between 5 and 15 ohms.
Hand controllers may be subject to random inspection at any time.
Behaviour
A good standard of behaviour is insisted upon and the organisers reserve the right
to refuse membership of the club to an individual. Also members misbehaving,
swearing, fighting, stealing, etc., will be verbally warned, receive a written warning
or banned or a combination of all three depending on their previous record and the
severity of the offence. It is further more intended that children under the age of 14
years should be supervised by an adult.
Start Times
1. All drivers must be book-in and scrutineered at race control by 7.30 p. m.
2. Pre-booking is available via the website or at the previous weeks meeting.
3. The meeting will start at 8.00 p.m. prompt.
4. Drivers may practice before 8.00 p.m. provided they are booked-in and
scrutineered.
5. No practising during the racing evening. Practice after the racing is allowed, time
permitting.
6. All drivers are expected to race in semi-finals and finals if they qualify.
7. If you leave before the semi-finals please inform race control or a committee
member.
Number of Meetings to be Raced Before Championships
A set number of meetings should be attended to be eligible to enter Championships.
Attendance at the following number of meetings, by Foxhall members in the year, is
required to be eligible to enter each championship:-
· Four up to the Suffolk Championship
· Six up to the Foxhall Championship.
· Two up to the British Championship.
· Two up to the East Anglian Championship
· Eight up to the World Championship.
There is no restriction on when these meetings can be attended, i.e.: attendance at the first eight meetings in the year will automatically make you eligible to enter the World Championship. The club will decide, via a secret ballot, if any members who have not attended the required number of meetings will be allowed to enter the Championship.
Championships
Two people are to write the results for championship finals where possible. Any disputes are to be settled on the night.
The club has the ultimate responsibility of paying for the engraving of club trophies the member does not wish to pay.
These Rules
Have been put together in an attempt to have and maintain harmony within the club.
If you feel you are being unfairly treated by a rule or person(s), you do have the right of appeal to the club chairman and committee. It is hoped that common sense will prevail in all matters.
